Marilyn J. Heend, a Fordham MSW graduate, is a certified Clinical Social Worker/ Psychotherapist specializing in building self-esteem, improving relationships, ADD/ADHD problems, addiction problems, and creating healthy life strategies. She is skilled in cognitive/behavioral, psychodynamic, psycho-educational, and problem solving therapies. For over 20 years, she has enjoyed working with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages with diverse backgrounds. She is committed to serving clients with respect, empathy, and understanding utilizing a down-to-earth style. Relating quickly and genuinely with her clients, effective therapeutic relationships in a safe non-judgmental, supportive environment are created and maintained. Positive feedback from her clients throughout her career are strong indicators that clients have been guided to achieve positive life growth.
Marilyn has accomplished her personal goal to achieve a happy, comfortable, balanced lifestyle. She has been happily married for the past 40 years and continues to work on her marriage and herself. She has two loving adult sons who are happy, well adjusted, and living successful, independent lives. They both feel secure knowing that they are part of her family and feel free to reach out to her or her spouse for support, love, and guidance.
To enhance her professional and personal skills, Marilyn attends post-graduate courses, advanced continuing education classes and lectures, seminars, and workshops throughout the country.
